The Katsura tree (Cercidiphyllum japonicum) is a deciduous tree, admired for its graceful form and vibrant seasonal color. It typically has a rounded crown and heart-shaped leaves that emerge reddish-purple in spring, turn bluish-green in summer, and transform into brilliant shades of yellow, orange, and pink in autumn. One of its most charming features is the sweet, caramel-like scent its fallen leaves emit in fall.

Katsura trees are often used in landscaping for their ornamental beauty and are well-suited to parks and large gardens. They prefer moist, well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade.
