Our Story

In the spring of 2003, with a modest budget and a vision, Murphy’s Tree Farm planted its first rows of Christmas trees on a wet, boggy property. The goal was to create organized fields while preserving the natural habitat, a challenging task that laid the foundation for what would become a beloved local farm. By 2014, after years of nurturing the land and trees, the farm opened to the public. That first winter, they sold only a few dozen trees, but the experience was invaluable. Families loved the space and the quality of the trees, many of which were from the first generation. Some of those original families still return each year, watching the farm grow alongside their own traditions.

Today, Murphy’s Tree Farm has stayed true to its original vision, evolving into a sustainable, thriving farm. In addition to the Christmas experience at the Maple Ridge location, the Murphys have expanded to a second site in Pitt Meadows, where they grow nursery trees, produce, and field-grown stock. The farm now offers a u-pick experience for no-spray apples, raspberries, and premium red hard-neck garlic, making it a favorite destination for local families.

Murphy’s Tree Farm continues to work hard to bring joy and quality to BC families, creating cherished memories year after year.
