The Acer 'Armstrong' is a fast-growing, columnar variety of the red maple (Acer rubrum), valued for its upright form and vibrant seasonal color. Native to North America, it features narrow, vertical branching and deeply lobed green leaves that turn brilliant shades of orange and red in autumn. Its tidy shape makes it ideal for urban landscapes, streets, and tight spaces.

The tree typically reaches 40–60 feet in height and thrives in full sun with moist, well-drained soil. It’s also tolerant of a range of conditions, including pollution and compacted soils.
